Trouble potty training puppy?

Ok so I have a three month old labradoodle. He is very smart but when it comes to potty training him he just isn't getting it. It seems as though he has us trained but we don't have him trained. Most times if you say “do you need to go potty?” he will bark at you then we let him out. But if we don't do that he will normally just pee inside. Sometimes he will come up to us and bark but we can't tell if he is barking becasue he wants to play or if he needs to go out. Every time he does poop or pee outside he gets praised like crazy and given a treat. We keep him on a schedule and there is always someone home with him.
How can I teach him to go to the door and bark?Any suggestions are welcome. Thank you.
