Puppy training: biting fingers?

We have been taking our 3 1/2 month old pup to training classes and have been given homework. She has to follow the treat to stay to heel. She is following the treat alright, she's biting our hands excitedly to get to the treat. Which of course, hurts. The other pups in the class are not doing this. They are just following the treat and only have it when their owners pop it in their mouth. How can I stop my little one biting our hands? It's slowing down our progress.

Have you asked your trainer about it??? Dont be embarrased to do so even though the rest of the dogs in the class are doing it "correctly"

if u place your hand (the one without the treat in) underneath the chin and tell her gentely and if she catches your fingers move the treat away and look at her wait a few seconds keep repeating this at home she will soon get the message but be gentle when you place your hand under the chin and say gentle in a carm but sturdy voice good luck

Our pup experienced the same problem – get the point across that getting the treat before you say it's ok is bad. Everytime your pup bites your fingers while she follows you, try pushing her nose back gently or telling her to sit when she does it. Have you taught her how to sit yet? That's always helpful.

Place a treat in your hand and make a fist. Hold your fist out to your puppy. Puppy will likely attempt to bite at your fist to get access to the treat. Maintain the fist until puppy stops biting. When the biting stops, give puppy the treat. Repeat this process until puppy is no longer biting at your fist.

Puppy will learn that when she bites at you, she does not get the treat, but when she stops, she gets it. It does take some time to work on this, so be patient.
