Potty Training my new puppy. Help ?

Potty Training my new puppy. Help ?

I just got a Chihuahua puppy. almost 4 months old. She came from a home where there was dirt everywhere. (Front yard and backyard) only dirt. It was like a trailer park. And the lady I got her from said that she puts puppy pads down in her house and she uses them fine.
Wrong… She went on my mom's new rug in our living room twice. I even had a puppy pad sitting right next to her and I showed her many times. There is also one in my room where she sleeps. I just got her last night, and the only time she has gone pee is 2 times on the rug. She's eaten 4 times (small amounts of wet food. She can't chew the dry food) and hasn't pooped.

I took her out 4 or 5 times throughout the day to the grass and stayed out there 10-15 min each time. She had never been on grass before so she was really scared at first. She never went potty on the grass though.

How can I get her to potty outside on the grass or on the potty pads?

    Hi,

To jumpstart the process, place a paper towel soaked in your pup's urine (and/or a piece of his feces) in the potty pads. Or, use one of the commercially available products meant to entice dogs to eliminate in a specific area. This will give your dog the idea that this is the place to go.

Well first off, using the pads in the house is only going to let the dog as it gets older that its ok to use the bathroom in the outside.. and most of the time you need to allow more than that time for them to do there thing, they won't more than likely just automatically go outside due there duties and then want to come back in side that could also be a part of why its not going outside very much…

OK…. When your dog goes to the looo (on the floor) put its head to were she peed and say NO! then bring her to the newspaper/ grass whatever you want and say good girl…
