How to potty-train a five month old puppy?

My family has four dogs and two of them are puppies, a girl and boy. They decided to give me the responsibility of training them even though I don't have much experience.

Anyways, the boy puppy is really good is house broken. He doesn't make any messes at all. But I'm having a really hard time potty-training the girl.

I make sure she goes out every hour until I go to bed. I give lots of praise when does it right. I give less water too. But she still pees in one part of the house, right next to the door.

My family is getting upset and I'm trying very hard. But none of them are interested in helping. So does anyone have any more tips that could help me out?

Sounds you like you are doing a heck of a job. As a foster of Saint Bernards, I don't like ot have them going in the hosue as often they are over 100 lbs and that is a lot of pee!. When i first get them, I tie the leash to myself. They cannot leave my side while we are in the house. If I see any behavior that indicates having to go to the bathroom I get them right outside. And then the praise as you are doing. If you are letting them wanter around, try keeping them right next to you for a few days. It may help.

I would start by getting a small kennel (like you can find at walmart) and crate train. This means when no one can watch her, like at night or when you leave the house, put her in the kennel and then as soon as you get her out again take her straight outside. She won't want to have to sit in her own mess and finally she'll get in the habit of going outside immediately when you let her out. If you can't get a kennel, just find somewhere to keep her confined to a relatively small, but large enough to comfortably lay down in, area when you can't watch her.

Also get some pee pads and put them directly in the place where she is going on the floor next to the door. Dogs like to pick a spot and keep going back there.

Every time you catch her in the act, tell her 'NO' in a very firm voice and take her outside right then, every time consistantly.
